Frequently Asked Questions

Safety & Environmental Concerns
- Are your products safe for children and pets? Yes, once the treated area is completely dry, it's safe for children & pets to return after a designated re-entry level determined by the product used.
- How soon after treatment can we go back outside? We advise waiting 4 hours minimum or until the treated area is dry ensuring the products have sufficient settled.
- What precautions should I take? Please bring pets inside, ensure toys/bikes are off of the lawn, & keep children away from the treated area until it's completely dry.
- What if the property is on the water or has a pond? We take care to avoid spraying near ponds or other bodies of water. Depending on your proximity to water, we may be required to spray a natural pesticide in order to comply with federal laws & keep you pest free.
- Are your products EPA registered? Our traditional synthetic pesticides are fully EPA registered, meeting rigorous federal safety and efficacy standards. However, our naturally-derived pesticide option is not registered with the EPA.
- What if it rains? Our treatments are designed to withstand light rain shortly after application. Heavy rain might require a follow-up.
- Do I need to leave my home during treatment? Depending on the treatment method, it may be necessary to stay inside while your yard is being treated, but you do not have to leave your home.

Mosquito-Specific Questions
- Will it eliminate all mosquitoes? While our treatments are designed to significantly reduce mosquito populations, complete elimination isn't possible due to their migratory nature.
- Where do mosquitoes breed? They breed in standing water. Believe it or not, mosquitoes can breed in an area as small as a bottle cap, so eliminating sources of stagnant water will help reduce their overall presence. Examples include clogged gutters, old tires, empty planters/buckets, and bird baths.
- What can be done in between treatments? As mentioned above, regularly draining standing water on your property is key to reducing mosquito breeding.
- Do you treat standing water? Yes, we can treat standing water sources for mosquito larvae where appropriate, using our eco-friendly alternative.
- Why are mosquitoes still in the yard? New mosquitoes can migrate in because they are a flying arthropod. We strive for maximum reduction.
- What time are mosquitoes active? Dusk and dawn are prime times, but they can be active anytime.
- Can mosquitoes transmit diseases? Yes, they can transmit diseases like West Nile Virus, Eastern Equine Encephalitis, & Zika. Our service helps reduce this risk.

Tick-Specific Questions
- Will it eliminate all ticks? We drastically reduce tick populations, but some may still be present due to wildlife activity.
- Where do ticks hide? Ticks like tall grass, wooded edges, leaf litter, & brush
- What can be done in between treatments? Maintain a tidy yard, clear leaf litter, and keep your grass mowed.
- Are ticks active year-round? Deer ticks can be active any time the temperature is above freezing. Nymph (immature) ticks, are responsible for the majority of Lyme transmission & most active in the spring.
- Why are there so many ticks? A combination of climate change (mild winters allow ticks to survive longer), increased host animals (more deer & mice provide food sources for ticks, helping them reproduce), and habitat changes (fragmented forests create ideal interaction zones)
- How do ticks get on my property? Primarily via wildlife (deer, rodents) and sometimes pets. While ticks can't fly, they hang off of leaves & branches, waiting to attach to humans or animals that walk underneath them.
- Can your service prevent tick-borne diseases? By reducing tick populations, we significantly lower your risk of exposure to diseases like Lyme, anaplasmosis, and babesiosis.
- What if I find a tick? Remove it carefully and consult a doctor or vet if concerns arise.
